Can I use Punctual right now?

Not without an invite. Punctual is in private beta during Phase 0a. The waitlist is open, and we’re onboarding small batches each week to keep the feedback loop tight.

Why only record GPS at the moment of clock-in?

Three reasons. Privacy: workers are entitled to a life outside of work. Battery: continuous GPS chews phones. Compliance: continuous tracking triggers a heavier obligation under NSW WSA and ACT WPA than we want to drag SMBs into.

My workers will feel watched. How do I sell this to them?

Show them the "For your workers" section above. The product is explicitly designed to not be a surveillance tool — and the 14-day notice required under NSW WSA / ACT WPA is sent before GPS ever activates.

Where is my data stored?

Supabase, region ap-southeast-2 (Sydney). Your data does not leave Australia unless you export it yourself. Backups are encrypted and geo-replicated within the same region.

Are you a registered company?

Phase 0a Punctual operates as a sole trader (founder name and ABN in the footer). A Pty Ltd is being incorporated in Phase 0c. This is all in the open — we’d rather you know upfront.

How much will it cost?

Two public plans: Starter at A$29/month (5 active workers) or Pro at A$59/month (10 active workers, includes accountant access and Xero-ready export). Annual billing saves about 17 percent. Extras per active worker are A$4 (Starter) or A$5 (Pro). 30-day free trial with Pro features — no credit card. No GST charged (ABN is not GST-registered yet). The first 30 paying businesses get 40 percent off as a Founding Member, locked as a percentage for as long as the subscription stays active.

How is this different from the big HR and rostering suites?

Those are great products for HR teams of 50+. Punctual is built for field teams of 5-30 where the boss is also the bookkeeper. Less admin surface area, more site-specific compliance, materially cheaper.

What happens if there’s a data breach?

We follow the Notifiable Data Breach (NDB) scheme under the Privacy Act 1988. If a breach is likely to result in serious harm, you and the OAIC are notified within 72 hours, with a plain-English description of what happened and what we’ve done.

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time. There’s an "Export my data" button in worker settings and a team-wide export for bosses. You get CSV and JSON. This is Australian Privacy Principle 13 in practice, not just in policy.

Who is building this?

You only pay for people who actually clock in, get scheduled, submit timesheets, approve hours, or appear in payroll-ready exports during the billing month. Archived workers and accountant-only users are free. Each team includes one free admin seat.

Punctual is not a payroll system and does not calculate final wages, tax, super or award entitlements. It helps your team capture, approve and export payroll-ready hours.
